McDougle Students, Teacher Honored at Board Meeting
The Klein ISD Board of Trustees recognized an outstanding McDougle Elementary educator and two outstanding students at the November Board meeting for their dedication to success in the classroom.
McDougle Elementary Kindergarten Bilingual teacher Ms. Aida Figueroa greets her students at the door daily with a smile, letting them know she’s happy to see them. Her students come to school knowing they are right where they need to be because of her dedication to ensuring their success.
“She works to know her students by name, strength, and need, then she meets them where they are academically,” McDougle Elementary Principal Hazel Berry said. “She works to grow them to meet their grade-level standards and beyond.”
Fifth grader Sophia is a quiet and reserved student who doesn’t back down from a challenge. She is a scholar who leads by example and wants to aid in the success of those around her. Her dedication to her studies and big heart do not go unnoticed by her peers and teachers.
“Sophia is a very intrinsically motivated student who always puts forth her best,” McDougle teacher Ms. Holly Grant said. “She is always the first to jump in and help others and always excited to grow as a learner.”
Anthony is a fifth-grade student who is an expert at building relationships with his peers. He never hesitates to lend a helping hand to his classmates who may need encouragement or are struggling with a concept. He is admired by those around him who truly appreciate his hard work.
“Anthony can be a little quiet and shy, but once he gets to know you, he opens up,” McDougle teacher Ms. Alvira Moran said. “He’s a really great classmate and team member. He’s one of those students who really does make a difference in the classroom.”
These McDougle Lions are truly inspirational! Congratulations, Ms. Figueroa, Sophia, and Anthony, your Klein Family is so proud of you.
