Birthday Snack Guidelines
Please consider a small toy from the dollar store or a pencil instead of a food treat that your child can pass out to friends. The children will enjoy the item much longer than food and will eliminate a problem with food allergies in the classroom.
If you decide to order a birthday snack from the cafeteria the following procedure should take place:
Contact the nurse 2 weeks prior to your event @ 832-484-7554.
The nurse will review the snack item and may contact you if any changes need to take place due to food allergies in the classroom.
A "Klein ISD Snack Permission Letter" will be sent home on the first day of school. Please indicate your preference regarding snacks on the letter, sign it and return it to school.
ONLY STUDENTS THAT RETURN THE SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP WILL BE OFFERED THE BIRTHDAY SNACK.
This is a good reason to consider an alternative birthday treat! Every child can participate when the item is a non-food item. No forms needed & no friends potentially left out!
